The 13th ISNPINSA 2023 FSM UNDIP
The International Seminar on New Paradigm and Innovation in Natural Sciences and Its Application (ISNPINSA) is an annual conference organized by the Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM), Diponegoro University (Undip), in Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia. The 13th ISNPINSA or ISNPINSA 2023 was held in hybrid form from November 8 to 9, 2023. The onsite event was held in Hotel Grand Candi, Semarang, Indonesia, and the online event was conducted via Zoom Meeting.
The theme for the 13th ISNPINSA in 2023 was "The Role of Science and Technology in Our Evolving Global Community." ISNPINSA 2023 seminar has made significant strides in strengthening scientific collaboration among researchers from Indonesia and abroad. It has also encouraged new research partnerships and helped shape policies to enhance the role of science in public life. The seminar covers a wide range of research and development topics, with a focus on the following fields:
- Mathematics and Statistics
- Physics and Applied Physics
- Biology and Applied Biology
- Chemistry and Applied Chemistry
- Informatics and Engineering

In the conference, there were 6 keynote speakers and 4 invited speakers from Malaysia, Thailand, Germany, and Indonesia. The conference was arranged for two days, which consisted of 4 keynote speakers for the first day and 2 keynote speakers for the second day. The keynote speakers presented in plenary rooms for 30-40 minutes and followed up with a discussion with participants for 10-20 minutes. Assoc. Prof. Ibrahima Faye from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS gave an excellent presentation on “Unlocking the power of neural networks in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)” on the first day of the conference (Figure 2). Following that, Dr. Nurhidayatullaili Binti Muhd Julkapli from the University of Malaya, Malaysia, gave an insightful presentation on “Sustainable and green mitigation approach of persistent water pollutants by separable nanohybrid photocatalyst” (Figure 3).

On the second day, the talk in the plenary session was presented by Prof. Dr. Zita V.J. Albacea from the University of the Philippines Los Banos, with the title “Measuring the SDG Indicators Using Disaggregated Statistics” (Figure 4)

After the plenary session, the invited speakers and the oral presenters presented their topics in the breakout rooms. Invited speakers presented their topic in the parallel rooms for 25-30 minutes and followed up with a discussion among the participants for 10-15 minutes. After the invited speakers, participants presented their papers in 10-15 minutes and continued with a discussion with others for 5 minutes.
